Carrot In The Compost Bin

My compost bin is crawling with woodlice who are working hard, turning my garden and kitchen waste into compost.

I put a full carrot that was past its best in there yesterday afternoon. The woodlice soon got to work on it – look at it now:

That didn’t take long, did it? At that rate they’ll have eaten their way through the lot in no time.

Talk to you later,

Susan.

  3. I have loads of woodlice in my compost bin too which always leg it when I open it… They don’t get through the carrots that quickly though! Wow.

    • Mine’s like that – a seething mass of black that disappears in a split second. I think there might be too much woody stuff in my compost bin.
